Namensreaktionen sind wichtige Reaktionsmechanismen in der organischen Chemie, die einen eigenen Namen haben, oft nach Ihrem Entdecker. In der Schule spielen sie meist eine untergeordnete Rolle, im Studium ist die Kenntnis bedeutender Namensreaktionen jedoch oft wichtig. Die meisten Namensreaktionen lassen sich grundsätzlich auf die anderen Grundmechanismen der organischen Chemie zurückführen: Addition, Substitution und Eliminierung.
