This theatre game is one from the new collection and is a fabulously fun way to encourage performers to experiment with different accents. The performers should be encouraged to stay in the moment as they switch to their new accents (easier said than done) and it is also important that they give it a go whatever accent they are given… by throwing themselves fully into the exercise, they may find that they are a natural at cockney, scouse or geordie or… if they are not so natural; the results can often be hilarious so, it’s a win win! Using visual input from images at the beginning, participants are then invited to make a connection with what they experience as their inner pulse. Exercise Description: This workshop demonstrates how a sequence of expressive and personal exercises result in collecting rich material that can serve a group composition/improvisation. Using visual input from images at the beginning, participants are then invited to make a connection with what they experience as their inner pulse. In the third phase the exercise Tear and Fold, inspired by the painter Matisse leads to individual expression with the use of a sheet of paper. Than the participants are invited to find sounds from their past that could be brought to the space.
